Goals and target groups of the events
The events of the CCoA target the need of industrial corporates and also start-ups from Germany for resources for digitalization. Morocco, with its renowned universities, globally networked ecosystems of startups and dynamic SMEs, offers rich potential for cooperation. Numerous internationally active companies are already working with Moroccan partners. The forms of cooperation range from classic offshoring and participation in companies to the establishment of their own subsidiaries, which can then take on tasks for the parent companies in development or cross-national sales in Africa
The large talent pool in the field of automation, which the CCoA has tapped with nationwide training measures, gives companies from Germany the opportunity to successfully recruit highly motivated and excellently trained specialists. The CCoA’s events are designed to help build human resource “capacities” in the emerging automotive, electronics and food industries of the emerging Moroccan economy.
Contents of the online events
The two online events on startups and SMEs in Morocco:
- present the rapid economic development as well as the corresponding industry-related ecosystems in Morocco.
- present opportunities for cooperation based on practical examples
- enable direct dialogue between start-ups and corporates (pitches)
- motivate personal encounters during the Makeathon and the Job Fair in February in Casablanca as well as visits to HANNOVER MESSE 23 and the ongoing events of the CCoA, the AHK and other partners in Morocco.
Focus on manufacturing
The unique selling point of the events is the focus on startups and small companies that provide industry-related services or work directly on production-related technical innovations in areas such as energy efficiency and sustainability. This is primarily intended to attract partners from the Industry 4.0, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, equipment suppliers and suppliers to the automotive industry as participants in the event

One of the measures under the CCoA project to transfer knowledge and create quality jobs is to hold the CCoA Makeathon 2022.
The event aims to transfer knowledge between industry, universities and vocational schools through intensive collaboration and the solution of challenging technical problems through combined hardware and software approaches.
The event format continues to promote entrepreneurship and aims to provide space for innovative tech startups. By combining the two-day Makeathon with the Industry Forum on the second day, the event bridges the gap between academia and industry. Students in their final year of study and those interested in technology will come together to work on challenging industrial problems. Professionals and experts and managers can thus get an on-site and live impression of the technical concepts and prototypes of the students. In this way, an exchange takes place between experienced professionals and young professionals. A jury of experts will evaluate the developed concepts and prototypes according to technical, economic as well as social and ecological aspects. The intensive collaboration in teams creates a space of encounter and offers chances to find a future start-up partner or team.
The Makeathon in Casablanca will be complemented by a business conference, matchmaking and a parallel job fair where students can introduce themselves personally to company representatives. Companies from the following industries: Automotive industry, electrical industry, agriculture, consumer goods, mechanical engineering and plant construction.
