Introduction and Fundamentals in Automation

Format

One-day seminar of approx. 3-4 hours

Description

The seminar describes the essential components of an automation system, such as sensors, actuators, control, regulation, and field buses. For application in your own production, you will learn how to define functional and non-functional requirements, how to define suitable system architecture, and how to select the right components are selected. The basics of control technology are taught using simple practical examples.

In times of Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things, requirements and architectures in automation technology are also changing. Another focus of the seminar is therefore on the connection of control technology and intelligent sensors to the cloud and edge-based systems for data analysis and process optimisation. In particular, OPC UA as a standardised communication infrastructure for Industry 4.0 will be discussed.

Target Group

The seminars are aimed at technical specialists and managers from the fields of:

  • Automation technology
  • Supply chain management
  • Production/manufacturing planning
  • Quality management
  • Those responsible for the use of automation systems
  • Officers responsible for the modernisation and redesign of automation solutions
Language

Seminar

Data protection and security in automated processes (IT security)

Format

One-day seminar of approx. 3-4 hours

Description

Whether in industrial operations or in buildings – automation systems are increasingly becoming part of modern plants. Without sufficient knowledge, security gaps can arise that can cause problems for the customer and subsequently also for the supplier or service provider – and in the professional environment can sometimes result in massive damage due to data loss or liability issues.

This seminar therefore teaches the basics for the secure use, configuration and commissioning as well as the secure operation of devices in the field of automation technology based on today’s systems and networks.

The focus is on the practical application of currently common devices and products such as PLCs, SCADA systems, control stations, bus controls and visualisations as well as the necessary network technology.

Target Group

The seminars are aimed at technical specialists and managers from the fields of:

  • Automation technology
  • Supply chain management
  • Production/manufacturing planning
  • Quality management
  • Those responsible for the use of automation systems
  • Officers responsible for the modernisation and redesign of automation solutions

Safety for Humans and Machines

Format

One-day seminar of approx. 3-4 hours

Description

The standardisation of manufacturing processes is increasing. Programmable logic controllers established themselves in automation technology years ago and have replaced conventional connection-programmed controllers in all areas. Until now, the control functions for the safety-related part of the plant had to be realised with a separate safety controller and a separate safety bus.

The objective of safety technology is to keep the risk to people and the environment from technical equipment as low as possible without restricting production, the use of machines or the manufacture of certain products more than is absolutely necessary.

Seminar

Human-robot collaboration

Format

One-day seminar of approx. 3-4 hours

Description

Human-robot collaboration (HRC) is increasingly becoming the focus of industrial applications. In addition to the increase in productivity achieved through cooperation with assistant robots, special attention must be paid to the area of safety. The aim of this seminar is to show the possibilities offered by industrial human-robot collaboration and how these can be implemented in a legally compliant manner (including through risk assessment).

The objective of the seminar is to convey the various forms of human-robot collaboration and their possible applications and limits. The participant receives an overview of the extended application possibilities of these assistance robots and can evaluate them in terms of productivity and safety. Thus, each participant receives the ideal basis for the risk assessment of assistance robots.

Target Group

The seminars are aimed at technical specialists and managers from the fields of:

  • Automation technology
  • Supply chain management
  • Production/manufacturing planning
  • Quality management
  • Those responsible for the use of automation systems
  • Officers responsible for the modernisation and redesign of automation solutions

Electronic components: Best practices in control cabinet construction with Rittal

Format

One-day seminar of approx. 3-4 hours

Description

This seminar teaches the basics of designing and automating electrical switchgear at the low-voltage level for energy distribution and plant automation. The first part deals with the implementation of electrical engineering requirements in economic solutions, taking into account the environmental conditions. Planning tools, available equipment and their function are considered as well as relevant standards or questions about maintenance and service life. In the second part, participants receive an overview of the planning and implementation of control technology circuits in the control cabinet. The focus is on the use of connection programming as well as the use of PLC systems. An overview of the current standards for safety-related control systems rounds off the day. At the end, the participants will be able to recognise the basic requirements for electrical switchgear, discuss possibilities for implementation and make estimates of the space required for the system.

Target Group

The seminars are aimed at technical specialists and managers from the fields of:

  • Automation technology
  • Supply chain management
  • Production/manufacturing planning
  • Quality management
  • Those responsible for the use of automation systems
  • Officers responsible for the modernisation and redesign of automation solutions

Measurement Technologies 4.0 & Sensors and IoT-Devices in Food/Beverage

Format

One-day seminar of approx. 3-4 hours

Description

Internet Of Things and Industry 4.0 aim at intelligent products and factories. However, this can only be achieved by using smart, small and inexpensive sensors with intelligent evaluation algorithms.

What important role do sensors play in the digital transformation? After the seminar, participants will have an up-to-date overview of available sensor technologies and will be able to analyse their own sensor challenges and evaluate the requirements of a possible sensor solution. They will also receive approaches for evaluating the technology in the form of a feasibility study.

Target Group

The seminars are aimed at technical specialists and managers from the fields of:

(Predictive) Maintenance

Format

One-day seminar of approx. 3-4 hours

Description

Predictive maintenance is used to determine the condition of in-service equipment to predict when maintenance should be performed when needed. This can result in cost savings over routine or time-based predictive maintenance, as tasks are only performed when they are actually necessary. Predictive maintenance categorises the condition of assets, for which it checks them either periodically (offline) or continuously (online). This enables pending maintenance to be designed not only for maximum cost efficiency, but also for maximum performance efficiency. In order to keep interruptions to regular system operation to a minimum, a large part of the predictive inspections can be completed in parallel with the operation of the system. In this seminar, participants learn how to establish predictive maintenance effectively and in the long term in their company.

Target Group

The seminars are aimed at technical specialists and managers from the fields of:

  • Automation technology
  • Supply chain management

Tailor-made digitization in production

Format

One-day seminar of approx. 3-4 hours

Description

Everyone is talking about digitalisation in production and the trend is irreversible. But digitalisation is also a buzzword that needs to be put into concrete terms for your own company and your own project work. Companies have to determine their individual digitalisation path. This seminar is intended to provide those who are faced with concrete implementation tasks with the necessary tools.

In addition to the technical basics, trends and solutions of digitalisation, the seminar will focus on how they fit into the strategic context of a factory. It will be discussed which digitisation measures have the greatest potential for the overall success of the factory and which topics should not be focused on in the specific case. Digitisation ties up resources and costs money. Successful companies are those that know the specifics of project and requirements management in digitisation projects and choose the appropriate solutions and providers.

Target Group

The seminars are aimed at technical specialists and managers from the fields of:

  • Automation technology
  • Supply chain management
  • Production/manufacturing planning
  • Quality management
  • Those responsible for the use of automation systems
  • Officers responsible for the modernisation and redesign of automation solutions
